"The route suggests that you start out from Fleurier but we began at the asphalt mines of Travers, as soon as we had completed our very interesting tour of this attraction. Plenty of free-wheeling down to Fleurier, and then we took the cycle track along the banks of the river Areuse. From there, the route climbs up to Môtiers Castle, and then (along some technically difficult sections) we headed for a place commonly known as Le Liéchoux. 2 km of asphalted road took us to a pleasant unsealed road and - after a stretch that must be very muddy in rainy weather - we came to a vast expanse of meadowland, returning us to the asphalt mines where the famous ham cooked in asphalt was waiting for us (we had placed our order before we left). After exercising our calf muscles, now was the time to delight our taste buds!"
